On Sunday, the Congress party unveiled its initial roster of 55 candidates for the forthcoming Telangana Assembly elections. Notably, Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy will be contesting from Kodangal. This announcement follows extensive discussions within the party's leadership on Friday, as they considered potential candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in both Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress conducted separate meetings to formulate strategies for the assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, scheduled for November 17 and 30, respectively.
Telangana is poised for a three-cornered battle, as the incumbent BRS party vies for another term, the Congress aims to unseat CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, and the BJP seeks to establish a foothold in the southern region as it looks ahead to the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.
